Why Would Anyone Vote For Trump? (The Third Option)

If you read my last post, lengthy as it was, you'll find that there are two strange forces at work in the political universe. 1) Donald Trump is not a very good man and is basically a junk selling con artist, and 2) I, along with 77,302,579 other people voted for him to be the 47th President of the United States.
I reasoned that there were two obvious reasons for this "spectacular catastrophe" of a 2nd Trump presidency, 1) I'm a brainwashed idiot, 2) I'm part of the con. I'm secretly affiliated with the Trump team and not to be trusted.
Knowing these two forces blended together could only lead to one of these two conclusions, I then, like a master magician, pulled a sinister and mysterious 3rd option out of my anus that Trump Haters the world 'round cannot seem to grasp.
It is here that I must tread with caution so as not to offend, because, believe it or not, I'm not a Trump-Hater... hater. In fact, if you desire to skip to the last 5 paragraphs of this post, you'll see immediately that I'm (almost) on your side. If you read my last post, you'll know that I at least understand your loathing of Trump.
But, vote for him I did, and let me share the mysterious reason I choose this bizarre path. If you haven't guessed by now, the reason I voted for Trump is because I believe the alternative to Trump was monumentally worse.
It is here that I lose the great majority of Trump Haters. But hear me out. If you would turn on your self awareness button for 5 minutes, let me prove to you how Trump voters and anti-Trump voters are basically a mirror image of one another. I'm sorry for breezing through these topics. 1000 pages wouldn't cover them appropriately. Suffice it to say, Demoncats and Repugnantons are closer cousins than you'd think. Here's my whirlwind view of why I feel the Democratic Party forced me to vote for Trump in 2024 (and I'm still waiting for an apology from y'all).
While we know Trump as a spoiled billionaire, the Democrat party, once the bastion of the middle class working person, has morphed into the party of Oprah, Gates, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Beyonce and Lebron. The Harris campaign was overflowing with nearly 1 billion dollars in their 2024 campaign, while Trump “got by” with only 388 million. And yet Kamala, the person sitting next to the most powerful man in the world, continually painted herself as the underdog. So, billionaire backing? The Dems have overwhelmingly more access to money than Trump does.
But wait! There's more. On the topic of Trump being a racist, I remember all the way back in the 90’s when I was told to “see no color”, that we were all just one planet of human beings trying our best to make our way through the day. Nowadays, life and politics are seemingly - all and only - about color. White is now bad. Folks such as myself are labeled racist because white people “are simply born that way”. This is just racism under a different banner. It’s easy to see through, and while Trump can be seen as a racist, the Democratic party has seen his racism and raised it 2 fold.
Moving quickly along, Donald’s sexism against women is well documented and inexcusable. And again, Dems have simply turned the tables of sexism 180 degrees, declaring now that men are oppressors and “toxic” by nature. We’re a threat because of our gender, tending to vomit our “mansplaining” point of view upon the weaker sex as we look down our macho noses. Strangely, after being called a racist and a toxic bigot, I’m supposed to vote for the people who’ve labeled me as such. Multiply my anger and disappointment at this sexist point of view by roughly 75 million voting-age men in this country and you can see how this brand of sexism isn’t a great strategy for winning elections.
Next, Donald is a narcissist with little self awareness, but let me say this with all the respect I can muster. Many of you Dems have a narcissism problem of your own. I feel that a large percentage of your party truly believe they are better than Trump voters. What did Hillary call us? A “basket of deplorables”? Dem leaders have been educated in the finest universities, live in trendy urban environments, are aware of all the politically correct trends while Trump voters are seen as ignorant rednecks, hillbillies, and brainwashed dolts. My, how the tables have turned. That used to be the Democrat base! It’s gone now. The GOP used to be the country club crowd, now it’s the Democrats.
And while most politicians today see themselves as royalty rather than public servants, the Dems are no exception, habitually making rules for us but not for them. See: Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done during Covid while all other shops were commanded to be closed, Bernie Sanders castigating capitalism while owning three houses and having a net worth of 5 million dollars, politicians condemning insider trading while fully participating in it themselves, and allowing millions of impoverished migrants across the border but not allowing them to settle in their neighborhood. While Trump thinks the world of himself, the list of Dem leader hubris rivals that of the Orange Man IMO.
Trump is a bully, no doubt. But there’s more than one way to be a bully. If the definition of a bully is a person with power threatening or preying upon someone with less power, then color the Left as bullies supreme. Using the IRS to audit conservative businesses? Bullying on a federal scale. Organizing protests to destroy entire blocks of cities and burn businesses? How is that not bullying? Biden promising to be "everybody's president" and then giving a speech on national, with the U.S. Marines standing behind him, warning America against Trump voters as they are a threat to democracy and need to be stopped? I didn't feel safe after his speech and I didn't feel like he was my president.
Mr. Trump often speaks in a belligerent and coarse manner, while Dems speak with more soothing and subtle rhetoric. The problem is, their slick and reassuring words can sometimes act as hollow, meaningless platitudes meant to smooth over their complete corruption and lack of action. Black voters living in urban settings supported Trump in greater measure in 2024 because they have grown tired of the empty promises of their leaders, living decades in the same sad situation they were born into, smack dab in the middle of Democrat strongholds: Baltimore, Detroit, D.C., NYC, Philadelphia, and Chicago; not a Republican in sight to blame for their poverty, just the empty promises of the DNC producing little to nothing for their impoverished constituents for the last 60 years. The foul-mouthed Trump calls these sections of cities “shitholes”, which is wrong on so many levels because fellow human beings are living there trying to make that place a home, but I wouldn’t live there and neither would you, ghettos of hopelessness brought to you courtesy of well-spoken professional politicians who also don’t seem to realize that there are fellow human beings trying to make that hopeless place a home. Please stop the grift of hoarding the money meant for them into your personal bank accounts and finally give your constituents something more to build on than your high brow words.
Trump’s businesses profited millions from his time in office. Are the Dems any better? Even AOC is complaining how crazy it is that fellow lawmakers of her party can be allowed to trade in the stock market, clearly pointing out the conflict of interest and blatant corruption of this practice. Why are “public servants” who earn a few hundred thousand dollars a year all multi-millionaires? It’s time to rid ourselves of the Pelosi's, the Schumer's, The Sanders, the McConnell's, and the 90 year old Chuck Grassley, all getting fat off of my labor for the last 40 years.
As I steam over Trump selling his cheap junk to supporters for 50 times profit, I then thought, “At least they get something for their money.” I voted for a Dem Rep in WA state in 2020 and boy, was that a mistake! Email after Email after Email. “I need money!” “Send me 20 dollars!” “Help me defeat evil!” And this person wasn’t offering me anything for my donation. I would at least have liked a fake silver coin or something for my money!
You Dems chortle and laugh over the gullible Trump supporters buying his baubles and feeding money into his political machine, but how many times have you sent money to a liberal candidate promising to defeat the devil with your donation? Do you really think these political televangelists are putting your money to good use? You know you’ve sent it. You know you’ve volunteered for campaigns of these corrupt con artists. And what do you get for it? Those Trump Sneakers ain’t looking so bad now, are they! OK, they still look REALLY bad.
Democrats are eating their own. Many liberals used to display a bumper sticker on their car that read, “QUESTION AUTHORITY”. They’ve now seemingly added a word to the front of that sticker when it comes to their party leadership, that word being NEVER. You need to march in lock step to be a good Dem. As just one example out of dozens; “Democrats For Life”, a pro-life Democrat website (which I bet you didn’t know existed), boasted 43 sitting House members two decades ago. Today there are two.
Joe Rogan was a Bernie Sanders supporting lib, now he’s been ushered to the conservative side of the aisle. Elon Musk, RFK, Tulsi Gabbard, Bill Mahr, Amber Rose, James Woods, Rob Schneider, Isaiah Washington, hell… Donald Trump; all used to be loved and adored by the Dems. Not so much these days. And the growing crowd of political refugees all say the same thing, “I'm still right where I've always been politically but the Democratic Party has lurched leftward into Marxist territory. Now they consider me a heretic.”
As the leftward surge continues, the Democrat party grows smaller and smaller, now even losing longtime Jewish support as Dems choose to stand with those who want to erase Israel off the map. They’re losing moderates, losing the youth who don’t feel safe on the streets due to gang members coming freely across our borders while liberal cities meet this challenge by defunding the police. Young females don’t feel safe in school bathrooms or locker rooms, many also feeling betrayed by being forced to compete with biological men. People are seeing these policies worked out in real time and they are rejecting them, and as they do, they too are disenfranchised from the party.
One of the biggest changes I’ve seen over the years is that the Democratic party used to stand against war. Now they’re entrenched in the military/industrial complex agenda of all war all the time. When Kamala’s campaign proudly added Dick Cheney to their list of supporters, I realized the party had completely lost their way. Dick Cheney is literally the face of evil in politics. He is the ex-GOP warmonger and engineer of the needless Iraq war, the Bush Patriot Act debacle that allowed the government to spy on us all, and was rightly vilified by Democrats decades ago as the satanic political figure he rightly is. So let’s go ahead and add him to the Harris/Walz campaign! It was horrifying to watch. Say what you will about The Donald but he is pushing for peace around the world and standing against the tragic waste of lives just so multi-billion dollar corporations can increase their stock share and I admire him for that. I believe you should too.
There is so much more to say regarding the corruption, false promises, media manipulation, and downright awfulness which the Democratic party has descended into. The bottom line is that there is plenty to be fearful of regarding Dem leaders with much corruption and graft to be uncovered soon by your favorite new government entity, DOGE, which Trump is using to expose the corruption in, and ultimately destroy your party.
Contrary to what you may believe, I want the Democratic Party to become stronger, a viable threat to the GOP, and most of all, to become honest, transparent, and unaffected by the corporate greed that runs rampant through both parties.
Our country needs 2 parties that represent we, the people, rather than THEY, the billionaires. Unfortunately, I think we’re going to end up with 1 party that completely controls all our lives, a reality that could come from the LEFT just as easily as from the RIGHT.
My hope is that you’ll stop railing against Trump, stop being “disappointed” by your fellow Americans who have committed the crime of seeing life differently than you do, and begin to take personal stock of only the things you can control: YOURSELF, your hope in the future, casting your bitterness aside, and rather than cursing the GOP, get to work on FIXING YOUR OWN PARTY, creating something great that I and my fellow Americans can gladly vote for in the future.
In ending this political diatribe, if you’re curious about how Trump voters see your side, we see you in the exact same way you see us, a bunch of idiots who keep voting for people who don’t have your interests in mind; people who stir up your fear and hatred, manipulating your emotions so you’ll keep voting them into office again and again, who promise you a prosperous future while delivering less and less until that day comes when there are only two groups left: the billionaires/politicians and the rest of us impoverished masses.
I urge you again, stop focusing useless hatred and energy on a party you’re not a part of, take up hope, begin the hard work of cleaning up and fixing your own party, and allow us on the other side the time and grace to work on ours so that we can all enjoy a better country for ourselves and for the future generations who are depending on us to develop the best political system we possibly can.
And that's all I have to say about that...
